At POP Dominican Travel, we are committed to providing exceptional experiences in Puerto Plata. We understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly, which is why we have established a clear and fair cancellation policy for all our guests.

Please review the following terms carefully before booking your tours, excursions, or transfer services.

1. Standard Cancellation Policy (The 24-Hour Rule)

To be eligible for a full refund, you must request your cancellation at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time of your tour or transfer.

  • Cancellations made 24 hours or more in advance: You will receive a 100% full refund to your original payment method, with no hidden cancellation fees.

  • Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled activity starts are strictly non-refundable.

2. No-Shows and Late Arrivals

  • No-Shows: Guests who fail to arrive at the designated meeting point at the scheduled time without prior notice will be charged the full price of the tour. No refunds will be issued for no-shows.

  • Late Arrivals: If you arrive late and miss the departure of your tour, we cannot guarantee participation or a refund, as our guides must maintain the schedule for other guests. Please contact us immediately if you are running late.

3. Cruise Ship Passenger Guarantee

We frequently host guests arriving at the Taino Bay and Amber Cove ports and understand that cruise itineraries are subject to change by the cruise line.

  • Missed Port of Call: If your cruise ship fails to dock in Puerto Plata for any reason (weather, technical issues, route changes), you will receive a 100% full refund, overriding the standard 24-hour rule.

  • Delayed Arrival: If your ship arrives late, we will make every effort to adjust your tour schedule. If we cannot accommodate the new time, you will be fully refunded.

4. Weather Conditions and Operator Cancellations

Your safety is our top priority. Our tours operate rain or shine, but some activities may be affected by severe weather.

  • If POP Dominican Travel must cancel an excursion due to unsafe weather conditions, natural disasters, or unforeseen operational issues, you will be given the option to reschedule for another date or receive a full 100% refund.

  • Light rain or overcast skies do not constitute a valid reason for a guest-initiated cancellation, and the standard 24-hour rule will apply.

5. The Refund Process

  • Processing Time: Once your cancellation is approved, the refund will be processed immediately on our end. Please allow 3 to 7 business days for the funds to reflect in your bank account or on your credit card statement, depending on your financial institution.

  • Payment Method: All approved refunds will be credited back to the original credit card or payment method used during the booking process.
